Add an extra alternative shift

Prerequisites
  • For agents to participate in shift trades: Workforce Management > Agent Shift Trade Request > Participate permission
  • For agents to submit alternative shift trades: Workforce Management > Agent Alternative Shift > Submit permission

You can pick up an alternative shift and add it to your schedule. For more information about choosing extra shifts, see Pick up an extra shift. To pick up an extra alternative shift, perform the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the Shift Trades panel. For more information, see Navigate the Shift Trades panel.
  2. Next to New Trade, click .
  3. Click Add.
  4. Choose the day on which to work an additional shift. If any alternative shifts are available to you, they appear in the list.
  5. Select an alternative shift and click Select.
  6. Click Add Shift.

Within a few minutes, workforce management automatically reviews your trade. To see whether the trade is approved or denied, check you inbox notifications. If your trade is denied, your supervisor can still intervene and approve it. After your trade is approved, your schedule updates accordingly.
